 As the capital of Virginia, Richmond is at the seat of political power.  Every winter, Delegates and Senators and their meal per-diems gather downtown for their General Assembly. Lobbyists and sycophants eagerly wine, dine, and peddle influence.  Here are some of their favorite hot spots:

It's like the ODC but for rich folk.  Members only.  You'll need money and know people who know people. Food: Don't know, never been.

Chef Carlos Silva's classy brasserie is the power center for city politicians.  As the former executive chef at the Federal Reserve, he has his share of high powered banker groupies, too.  Food: Carlos is the man.  Menu changes seasonally.  I personally dig his pastas (pillowy ravioli) and seafood.

Central rectangular bar has pockets of privacy where deals get done, son.  Those bartenders know way too much. Food: Happy hour appetizer deal is THE Deal.  Coca cola glazed pork chops is a favorite.

The unofficial company cafeteria of Media General is filled with fourth estate types. Food: Red sauce dishes.

Bloody steaks and strong whiskey (is that Chetti?), all aged appropriately.  Probably, should be #1, but we must first defer to the local non-chains. Food: If you wish to change a Senator's mind about a bill, start with a Bone-In Ribeye...then write a check.
