Alternatives, Inc
|
Chesterfield Alternatives Inc. (CAI) exists to serve the mentally disabled
population of Chesterfield County. For the past several years, the efforts
have been directed toward providing secure, stable, homelike environments
for this population. Through the efforts of a volunteer board, CAI has
acquired 15 houses in all areas served by the Chesterfield Services Board
and provided 53 individuals with excellent living environments.

| Family Advocacy Creating Education and Services (FACES)

FACES is a non-profit corporation founded by families of loved ones with brain disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and schizoaffective disorder. The mission of FACES is to serve and support families by helping to dissolve the stigma surrounding mental illness. Our goals are to educate the public, provide educational resources, advocate for access to services, and create a model residential center.

Gateway Homes

Gateway Homes is the only nonprofit organization in Virginia to provide a transitional, residential treatment program for adults with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder or Depression.

| Memorial Child Guidance Clinic/Child Savers of Richmond

Provides out-patient mental health services for children, adolescents and families; utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients experiencing psychiatric, psychological, behavioral and developmental difficulties. Licensed clinical staff develop individualized treatment plans, consult with community agencies and advocate for client services. Prevention programs provide educational, resource/referral and training services to individuals, families and communities seeking support and services for the optimum growth and development of children.

The Mental Health America of Virginia (MHAV) is a citizens’ organization
dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental illness, assuring
the proper treatment of the mentally ill and eliminating the stigma
associated with mental illness.

NAMI Virginia (the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Virginia) was created in 1985 by family members to provide support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental illness with Virginia. It is our mission to improve the lives of all those who are affected by serious brain disorders and to fight the stigmatism that surrounds mental illness.

RBHA is licensed by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services and is the statutorily established public entity responsible for providing mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse and prevention services to the citizens of the City of Richmond.
